When it comes to your smile, there are times you may need dental restorations to replace missing teeth. February  is host to Valentine’s Day and National Toothache Day, which makes it a great time to show your smile some love and make sure your pearly whites get the attention they need and deserve. Never ignore a toothache, because unless it’s from a bit of food lodged between the gums and teeth, there is likely something very wrong with the tooth.

Never Ignore a Toothache

A toothache can arise for several reasons including severe infection that has damaged a big area of the tooth and the supportive bone material. Another cause is when tooth decay has ravaged a tooth so much that it can’t be fixed with a dental restoration. Also, our doctors may extract a tooth when there is extensive crowding in the mouth from having too many teeth to fit properly. Don’t worry though, if you have a tooth that needs pulling, our prosthodontists can use sedation dentistry to make sure your tooth extraction is both comfortable and as painless as possible. We understand that your dental experience leaves a lasting impression.

Once one or more teeth are gone, our skilled Denver Restorative Dentistry team can replace missing teeth. We have a variety of tooth replacement choices that we have used to help many satisfied patients smile again with pride by replacing lost teeth with one of our premier dental restorations:

Pain within a tooth, severe sensitivity, pressure, or discomfort in your gums can be a serious cause for concern. These classic symptoms of a toothache often indicate that the internal structures of the tooth have been compromised by dental trauma, an untreated cavity, or severe tooth decay.

The longer you delay in seeking professional treatment at Dr. Taylor Goggins’s dental office the more likely you are to experience increasing pain and more severe complications.

If your toothache pain is related to untreated tooth decay it likely means that the bacterial presence has penetrated the pulp, nerve, or root of the tooth. If you have recently suffered a dental trauma, it’s possible that the accident may have injured the internal structures of the tooth or an area of gum tissue. Even if the traumatic event occurred a few days ago, the toothache could be the result of inflammation.

Once Dr. Taylor Goggins has assessed and diagnosed the underlying cause of your toothache they will present you with some possible treatment options. In many cases, this calls for performing a root canal to extract any compromised structures. Once this is done they will restore sufficient structure to secure a dental crown in place.

If you are in the Broomfield, Colorado area and you are suffering from toothache pain, please call 303-586-1019 to seek care at Denver Restorative Dentistry. We look forward to helping you maintain your healthy smile!
